If you are visiting this Sunday morning for the first time, there are some things you might want to know.
Our church family consists of young and old with a primarily caucasian background. Dress styles vary from sport coats and ties to casual with blue jeans. We offer one worship service on Sunday morning. We also provide Bible study classes for all ages prior to the worship service on Sunday morning. Sunday evening services are comprised of activities for adults, youth and children (September through April only). Nursery care is provided for infants through toddlers during the Bible study and worship times.
SUNDAY MORNING
Bible Study (9:00 A.M.) Worship Service (10:15 A.M.)
The worhip service is generally sixty-five minutes with twenty to twenty-five minutes of praise and worship music and thirty-five to forty minutes of preaching. Our music incorporates a blend of traditional and contemporary styles that are designed to point the worshipper toward the greatness of God, are filled with Biblical truth and seek to magnify Jesus Christ. We also receive an offering as an act of worship that is utilized for the mission and ministry of the church.
The senior pastor is entrusted with the responsibility of proclaiming the Bible. The practice is to preach through a book of the Bible from beginning to end by analyzing the text for its original meaning and seeking a current application for life today.
We also offer Children’s Worship durning the Sunday morning worship service for children between the age of 4 and those who completed the 6th grade. Children’s Worship is an exciting and joyful way for children to learn about God’s Word.
SUNDAY EVENING
Adult Bible Study (6:30 P.M.)
The evening service is an informal time of Bible study which will vary in topics such as apologetics and doctrinal issues.
The Gathering for Youth–7-12 grade (6:00 P.M.)
Students often show up at 5:45p.m. to play frisbee, socialize, and settle in. Dress is “come-as-you-are,” and anyone is welcome. At 6:15, we eat a full meal that is served by rotating families from our church. After eating, we spend some time worshiping through music–students stand and sing worship songs on a projector together while someone leads using piano or guitar. We usually sing Hillsong, Chris Tomlin, and traditional hymns. From 7:00-7:30, students sit down and listen to a sermon that covers a passage from the Bible. The Bible is read, explained, and applied directly to their lives so that they can become more like Jesus. They are also told how to become a Christian and given an opportunity to pray and talk with an adult if they are interested. If there is time, we will close with a game, but students are always officially dismissed at 7:30–even though they can stay until 8:00 and continue socializing.
